About Us

Tennis + is led by Mark Vorwerk who has established himself in KZN as one of the province's most respected professional tennis coaches, and who has been coaching in the Upper Highway and KZN Midlands area for the last 9 years. The Tennis + Coaching team is made up of Karl von Fintel who has been working with Mark for the last 5 years and who is also a qualified professional tennis coach. Athnie Chifamba complements the team as the assistant coach.

Mark Vorwerk(37 years old) - Tennis + Director of Coaching, has always had a passion for tennis, and was dragging a tennis racquet around at the age of 2. Mark qualified as a professional tennis coach in Austria and over a 5 year period in Austria worked as the head coach of a tennis academy. This was followed by an 18 month stint on the WTA circuit as the personal coach of one of South Africa's leading juniors - attending Junior Wimbledon and events held in Australia, North Africa, South America and Europe. Upon returning to South Africa, he settled in Hillcrest with his family and joined the Hillcrest Tennis Club. He is currently the junior organizer and plays in the super league for the Club.

Karl von Fintel (24 years old) - Tennis+ Head Coach, qualified as a professional coach in 2008, and has been coaching for 5 years. Karl grew up in Wartburg, and has always had a passion for coaching.

Alain Biasi - Tennis+  Assistant Coach, is from France and has been living in Hillcrest for a number of years. He has completed the ITF level 1 course.

 Kevin Reed - Tennis+ Assistant coach joined us at the end of last year- hails from Amanzimtoti- he has completed the ITF level 1 course.

Ryno Bruwer - Tennis + Assistant Coach -hails from Bloemfontein - He has completed the ITF level 1 course. He has been coaching for 4 years and has a great rapport with the children.

Tracy Foss - Tennis+ Admin Assistant has lived in Hillcrest for the past 14 years. She has 3 children, Bryce (23 ) and twins Brittany and Keegan (15 ).The twins have been pupils of Mark since they were 5 years old. She will be happy to assist with any admin related issues as well as any web site enquiries. She is available in the mornings between 08.30-1300
